Landcare Green Teams
The CEN Green Team program is supported by the NSW Government through Local Land Services and Landcare.
The project originally started as a way to help support and connect the COSS (Coastal Open Space System) lands through private properties, but has since expanded to new areas. The CEN supports these groups by providing a professional bush regenerator to help guide works, training in weed control techniques, tool kits, and coverage for insurance.
Who We Are
We are a group of local landholders who create habitat together on each other’s properties.
- Do you own 0.5 Ha or more of bushland that has a weed problem?
- Would you like professional help?
- Get to know your community,
- Meet like-minded environmentally focused people, and
- Have a qualified professional bush regenerator to guide the efforts of the team.
What we do
Our Green Team Landcare Groups are groups of local landholders that work together to help eliminate weeds from their own properties. Each team meets once a month for two hours of learning and weed removal.
Participants learn about plant identification. All tools are provided and there’s a free morning tea at the end of the session.
If you like the sound of removing the problem weeds on your property, with the help of a qualified bush regenerator, if you’re enthusiastic about the environment, and would like to meet new like-minded members of your community then the CEN Landcare Green Teams Program is the project for you!
This program helps to restore corridor connectivity and protect native flora and fauna.
