Speakers include Tony Lonergan and Richard Weller

A retired farmer who is wilding his remaining small holding, Tony’s talk “Farmers Dealing with Climate Change” will explore his experience of the increasing strength of extremes such as drought and storm. The cost of food is critical to inflation and the cost of living crisis currently being felt across our community. Farmers need to adapt as the climate system warms up and weather becomes increasingly energetic.
Richard will present about the latest climate news and discuss the increasing cascade of extreme events and the policies needed. Appropriate policies for the 1990’s or even the 2010’s are no longer suitable because the effort to cut emissions globally has so far failed to stop greenhouse gas concentrations rising. You will hear what policies are now needed to get us back on track to the Paris goals.

The final session will be a Panel discussion and question session.
