Environmental issues on the Central Coast

The Wyong Planning Committee of CEN has as a main concern the continue impact on the environment of urban growth. The Committee continues to be involved in the planning and environmental protection of districts such as: The Entrance District; Wyong-Tuggerah Regional District; Warnervale-Wadalba State designated Growth District; proposed North Wyong Structure Plan; proposed Central Coast Conservation Plan; and district centre urban plans such as Toukley, Budgewoi, and Ourimbah. The Committee works closely with CEN's Sustainable Transport Committee given the challenges of gaining a sustainable approach to transport in a shire that will see an additional 70,000 residents to the year 2031. Finally, the Wyong Planning Committee works closely with the Wyong Shire Precinct Committee (10 in all), given the commitment of the precinct Committee to sustainable development and citizen participation.

Chair - Ray Rauscher
Members - Kevin Armstrong (co-convenor), Jim Price, David Holland, Peter Adderley, and Doug Darlington.
