Wetland rehabilitation and water quality monitoring.

CEN’s Waterwatch Program and Central Coast Council are inviting local and nearby residents to come along to a workshop on Saturday 22nd July 9:30-11:30am to find out more about the wetland, its importance for water quality and wildlife habitat.

Locally, our coastal wetlands also provide key services in catchments with filtration of water, habitat for migratory birds, wildlife refuges and home of Endangered Ecological Communities and threatened species.

This workshop is part of a larger project being coordinated by Central Coast Council to improve the condition of the Brisbane Water Estuary, which is listed as a Wetland of National Significance by the Australian government.

Short activities will include presentations, water quality testing, wetland plants and weeds identification and a wetland treasure hunt.
